1 pound ground beef

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

Garlic salt

1 16-ounce can tomato sauce

6 green onions

1 cup sour cream at room temperature

1 3-ounce package cream cheese, softened

8 ounces small noodles

Shredded cheddar cheese

Brown beef. Add salt, sugar, garlic salt, and tomato sauce. Simmer 20 minutes.

Chop onions and mix with sour cream and cream cheese.

Cook noodles as directed.

In buttered casserole, place a layer of noodles, a layer of cream cheese mixture, and a layer of meat mixture. Repeat. Top with cheddar cheese. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.

Yield: 6 servings

Notes:

  1. Swapped out the garlic salt for fresh crushed garlic as that’s what I had on hand

  2. Used regular egg noodles for the small noodles

  3. Went with a 9x13 inch dish, but would probably use something smaller next time
