1 pound small egg noodles

2 pounds ground beef

2 6-ounce cans tomato sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt to taste

8 ounces cream-style cottage cheese

1 8-ounce package cream cheese

1 cup sour cream

3 or 4 green onions, chopped

1 stick butter or margarine

Boil, drain, and rinse noodles under hot water. Brown meat well; add tomato sauce, Worcestershire, and salt.

Mix cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and onions. Melt butter or margarine.

Grease two 2-quart casseroles. Place one-fourth of noodles in each casserole, pour a little melted butter over noodles, and half of cheese mixture to each casserole. Add remaining noodles, more butter, and top with meat mixture.

Bake at 350° for 30-45 minutes. Freezes well.

Yield: 8-10 servings

Notes:

  1. Halved this recipe with great success

  2. Used medium size, wide egg noodles

  3. Used considerably less of the melted butter in the noodle layers
