The Junior League of Rochester, New York

Applehood & Motherpie | Elizabeth T. Williams

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

3 teaspoons vanilla

Dash of salt

2-1/4 cups flour

Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla.

Add flour and salt.

Chill dough, covered, for only 1 hour.

Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness; cut out in any shape. Bake at 400° on lightly greased cookie sheet for 8–10 minutes. Frost, if desired, when cooled.

Powdered sugar makes this dough no-stick!

Yield: 3 dozen

Notes:

  1. Rubbed cinnamon on mine prior to baking
