2 cups croutons, herb seasoned

1 cup cheese, shredded

4 eggs, slightly beaten

2 cups milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon mustard

1/8 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon pepper

10 slices bacon, cooked

Combine croutons and cheese, and put in the bottom of a greased 2 quart (1.89 l) casserole. Mix other ingredients until well blended; pour over croutons and cheese. Crumble bacon on top. Bake at 325° for 55-60 minutes. May be made the night before.

Yield: 6 servings

Notes:

  1. Went with a mix of Swiss and Cheddar for the cheese

  2. Used ground mustard powder as it wasn’t specified

  3. Found this to bake up fluffy in about 50 minutes
